Maynooth University

We are thrilled to welcome Maynooth University into the Elephant in the Room Movement, as they proudly unveiled their very own sculpture this week. This vibrant addition to the campus stands as a powerful symbol of the university’s commitment to breaking the stigma around mental health and fostering open, supportive conversations.

The launch event, spearheaded by Maynooth University’s Human Resources department, marked a significant moment in their dedication to mental health awareness. The elephant sculpture, now prominently displayed on campus, serves as a daily reminder to students, staff, and faculty that it’s okay to talk about mental health and that no one should feel alone in their struggles.

Speaking about the initiative, Brent Pope, founder of the Elephant in the Room Movement, shared:
"Seeing these elephants take their place in institutions like Maynooth University is a reminder that we’re moving closer to a world where mental health conversations are normalized, and stigma is left behind. It’s an honor to have Maynooth join the herd."

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone at Maynooth University for bringing this project to life and for their dedication to creating a campus culture of openness and understanding. This is more than just a sculpture—it’s a symbol of progress and the ongoing effort to grow awareness and support for mental health.

This unveiling is part of our mission to expand the Elephant in the Room Movement across Ireland, and we couldn’t be prouder to see the herd growing stronger with each new addition.

Together, we’re creating meaningful change.
