Blanchardstown Centre
On November 26, 2024, Blanchardstown Centre proudly became the first shopping centre in Ireland to join the "Elephant in the Room" movement, unveiling a bespoke art sculpture designed to promote mental health awareness. The initiative was launched by sports and television personality Brent Pope, a dedicated mental health advocate and founder of the movement.
The sculpture, affectionately named "Blanche," was created by artist Shirley Copperwhite. It features symbols of love and hope, incorporating elements from nature into a vibrant and positive design. Positioned prominently on Level 2 in the Central Mall, "Blanche" serves as a powerful conversation starter, encouraging open discussions about mental health among visitors and staff alike.
By embracing the "Elephant in the Room" initiative, Blanchardstown Centre aims to create a supportive environment where mental health is openly discussed, fostering a community of understanding and compassion.
