Arboretum Kilquade
At the heart of the newly redeveloped Arboretum Kilquade, amidst the celebration of growth and sustainability, stands a meaningful symbol of our mental health advocacy—'Fragility', the elephant sculpture. This beautiful artwork, crafted by local artist Lucy Doyle, was introduced during the grand opening, officiated by Taoiseach Simon Harris.
The elephant, positioned at the entrance to the National Garden Exhibition Centre, is not just a piece of art; it represents the core mission of the Elephant In The Room Movement. It is a vivid reminder of the importance of discussing mental health openly and without stigma, especially in nurturing environments like gardens where peace and tranquillity can aid in healing and well-being.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all involved in bringing this vision to life, emphasising the critical link between mental health and the natural world. The presence of 'Fragility' at Arboretum Kilquade is a proud moment for us, as it embodies our message in a community deeply connected with nature and sustainability.
Join us in embracing mental health conversations as openly and freely as we engage with nature. Here’s to the hope that 'Fragility' inspires every visitor to reflect on mental wellness as they stroll through the serene paths of Arboretum Kilquade.
