Born in 1994, Shane Carthy resides in the seaside town of Portmarnock. His aim from a very young age was to play Gaelic football at the very highest level and he achieved this by representing Dublin at Minor, U21 and Senior level, collecting 5 All Ireland medals along this journey.

He has experienced epic highs and desolate lows in his life to date. His public and honest openness about his struggles with mental health are both well-known and have been widely well-received to date. 

He hopes by continuing this he can illuminate the path for for others who may be going through difficulties in their own life.
